Satellite television in India after 1990 nature wise has become transnational. Under the privatization policy of government many multi-national companies entered in the Indian markets. CNN introduced international satellite television in India through its Gulf War coverage in 1991. In August 1991, Star Plus was launched by Richard Li launched, and it became the first satellite channel that even reached Indian subcontinent. Kijiye Kal Tak” became almost immortal. Large number of viewers all over India has been watching Aaj Tak Hindi channel as a daily habit because of its news presentation in innovative style. Apart from this Nalini Singh’s news capsule Ankhon Dekhi which was a five-minute fast paced, condensed daily, TV Today Network’s Business Aaj Tak in Hindi and News track was presented on Doordarshan Metro channel. This is the time when satellite channels focused on entertainment programs for their channels. Doordarshan still ruled the most wanted slot ‘news’.
